Prior to his real estate career, Lee Whalen worked for six years with the US Securities and Exchange Commission as an attorney in the Division of Enforcement. Lee was responsible for handling investigations involving multi-million dollar transactions. These investigations often involved complex negotiations. Although he no longer practices law, he gained valuable experience while he was with the federal government.
Lee worked at Touche Ross (now known as Deloitte Touche) as a tax consultant. He was responsible for preparing federal and state tax returns for corporations, co-ops, sole proprietorships, and individuals. During the spring of 1991, Lee purchased a "fixer" in the Ballard area. Lee likes the Ballard area for its restaurants, views of Puget Sound and the Olympics, Golden Gardens, and Ballard's proximity to boating; particularly sailing.
